Internet Security Company F-Secure and one of Singapore’s leading telecommunications company SingNet have struck a strategic partnership to expand services to customers in the small and medium business (SMB) sector.
As per the deal, SingNet will offer its customers an IT Security Suite of value added services that includes F-Secure’s desktop-based security solutions. “We note the growth trend in the SMB segment and recognize the increasing need for a security solution, which meets the specific requirements of this segment…," said Jari Heinonen, vice president for F-Secure Asia-Pacific.
"With 7 out of 10 SMBs ranking internet and data security as their most important IT issue, our partnership with F-Secure helps SingNet to enable these SMBs with a cost-effective, scalable and hassle-free security solution,” said Sarah Chua, Vice President, Business Sales, SingNet.
“…our customers can be at ease to focus on their core business, knowing that they are protected with a full suite of desktop security comprising anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-spam and firewall features."
Heinonen also said F-Secure, which has been present in Singapore for some ten years, is noticing a definite increase in the demand for hosted security services, particularly from ISPs(internet service providers) in the region. He hopes to further expand the Helsinki, Finland based company’s footprint in the market via strong service provider partnerships such as the one with SingNet.
F-Secure will be supporting SingNet on a 24x7 basis. The F-Secure Data Security Lab will be on call 24-hours a day. The company has two labs located in Helsinki and Kuala Lumpur. The security experts in both centers focus on malware research and protection against threats like viruses, spyware, rootkits, or phishing attacks, as well as the analysis of new security vulnerabilities in different products. |
