India’s second largest IT services company Infosys has said it will open a BPO in Mexico, its first in an Latin American country as it tries to get closer to its largest market USA and also offset rising rupee in India. Infosys also said it looking at opening more BPO elsewhere.
"As we speak, we are in the process of moving into our own office. We have taken the office. It will be operational very soon,” company CEO and Managing Director S Gopalakrishnan said.
Bangalore headquartered Infosys, which last year celebrated its 25th anniversary, has already started opened a 60 seat BPO in Manila that will be ramped up to 700 by this time next year.
Infosys Head (HRD, Education and Research) TV Mohandas Pai said, "Mexico is closest to the US in the time zone and American clients are very familiar with that country. There is a good emerging employee pool there." |
