Oracle has announced that it will embed a video codec from Global IP Solutions (GIPS) into its PC softphone to deliver video to communications service providers.
Oracle said GIPS' VoiceEngine Multimedia LSVX technology will combine audio and video conferencing for its VoIP technology called as Softphone. It uses advanced techniques to handle jitter, packet loss, central processing unit, and bandwidth constraints, and it supports any voice or video standard, according to GIPS.
"Communications service providers are looking for compelling, high quality multimedia applications for end-users and enterprises," said Vittorio Viarengo, VP of development at Oracle.
"The inclusion of GIPS VoiceEngine Multimedia LSVX video in Oracle Communicator further broadens the array of revenue generating services available on the Oracle Service Delivery Platform." |
