Marvell, a provider of storage, communications, and consumer silicon solutions, has revealed that Marvell TopDog-based NETGEAR RangeMax NEXT Wireless-N Router - Gigabit Edition has received a 2007 CES Innovation award from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).

"The recognition of NETGEAR's RangeMax WNR854T router as a key innovation of 2007 highlights Marvell TopDog's position at the heart of the wireless, digital lifestyle," Vivek Pathela, Vice President of Product Marketing for NETGEAR. "By featuring the highest data rates, the longest range, and the lowest power profile of any WLAN solution, TopDog ensures that the WNR854T delivers a wireless experience to the digital home.

According to the company, TopDog is 802.11n IEEE-draft- compliant wireless LAN (WLAN) solution for consumer, enterprise, and mobile markets. With multiple antennae configuration support, TopDog WLAN solutions feature speeds of up to 300 mbps for powering data intensive applications such as wireless streaming of HDTV and multimedia content throughout the home.

NETGEAR's RangeMax NEXT wireless-n router allows users to build high-powered, stable home networks with enough bandwidth to simultaneously surf the Internet, download MP3s, make Internet phone calls, share files, play network games, and stream high-definition videos. And RangeMax NEXT is compatible with all legacy 802.11b and 802.11g wireless products for flexible connectivity, the company said.
