Accenture has introduced a revenue solution that integrates key functional components of a tax management program for governments while making it easier for taxpayers to interact with revenue agencies and easier for revenue agency employees to access and process information, as per a statement issued by the company.

Accenture's new solution integrates taxpayer identification, taxpayer accounting, correspondence, case management, contact management, business intelligence and revenue accounting. It features a configurable tax forms rules engine as well as collection case management, taxpayer and revenue accounting and reporting functions. The solution can operate on multiple hardware platforms, operating systems and database solutions, it added.

The new packaged composite application runs on the SAP NetWeaver platform and provides preconfigured modules as well as additional functionality to address the complex and evolving business requirements faced by many revenue agencies. The solution includes a conversion toolkit that automates the transition from Accenture's Tax Administration System to the new platform. Key business rules and data are converted without the need for manual intervention, saving revenue agencies hundreds of hours of work, the company continued.

The Accenture solution is built on Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) to provide a foundation for integrating business processes governed by multiple systems. The business services are accessible through Web-based standards that are vendor-neutral. Accenture achieved SAP-certified integration by demonstrating that the solution meets all of the technical and business criteria established by SAP for its SAP xApps Certified status, company representatives said.

"SAP xApps Certified solutions such as Accenture's enable continuous business innovation and provide customers with the flexibility to respond quickly and profitably to business change, while leveraging and protecting existing IT investments," said Kevin Ichhpurani, global vice president, Business Development and Strategic Alliances, SAP.

Accenture and SAP have teamed together on more than 1,800 enterprise software implementations, the company concluded.
