Communications and IT solutions provider Verizon has been awarded a three-year contract to provide managed security services (MSS) for 3’s, Hutchison 3G Australia’s, wireless network.
According to the deal, Verizon Business Security Solutions Powered by Cybertrust will provide an on-site security specialist, 24-hour monitoring from the Verizon Business Asia Pacific Security Operations Centre in Canberra, and full integration into the Verizon Business Global MSS network.
Verizon Business will also provide round-the-clock monitoring and management for 3’s firewall devices and recently deployed intrusion detection system (IDS).
Verizon Business became the leading provider of managed security services to business and government customers worldwide with the July 1 completion of its acquisition of Cybertrust.
“Verizon Business Security Solutions’ expertise, global resources, proven capability, competitive pricing and willingness to customise its managed security service delivery to meet our needs gave us confidence that the security of our network would be enhanced in their hands,” said Bill Millar, general manager commercial governance, Hutchison 3G Australia.
"Verizon Business Security Solutions is ahead of the pack in that it easily fulfills all those criteria,”said Paul O’Rourke, regional vice president, Verizon Business Security Solutions Asia Pacific.
Verizon Business completed its acquisition of information security specialist Cybertrust on July 1. |
