Apparently Asia Pacific and Japan has been good to Secure Computing of late. The security company released a statement yesterday saying that it has achieved growth for five consecutive quarters in the region citing its success to its investments in new offices, expanded staff, and enhanced support and back-office operations.
“By expanding our presence in Asia-Pacific and Japan, Secure Computing is effectively replicating the considerable success that we have had with our EMEA operations,” said Robert Prigge, vice president of sales in Asia-Pacific and Japan, Secure Computing.
“With the explosive growth of the online population, the increase in new security threats and the number of new laws regarding IT, Secure Computing is in an ideal position to protect customers in the Asia-Pacific and Japan region with its market-leading enterprise gateway security solutions.”
Its strategy has seen the expansion of its operations in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan and South Korea subsequently doubling its headcount. The company has also implemented several training centers across the region and established a warehouse in Singapore to better facilitate regional orders.
IDC forecasts that the security software market in Asia Pacific (excluding Japan) will continue to grow with a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 16 percent for the next few years, to hit USD 1.7 billion by 2010.
In addition to physical expansions of staff and locations, Secure Computing also released localized products in each of the network, messaging and web gateway security families in 2007. |
