Frost & Sullivan Names TANDBERG Global Video Conferencing Company of the Year

TANDBERG, a leading global provider of telepresence, high-definition videoconferencing and mobile video, has been named recipient of the 2008 Frost & Sullivan Global Video Conferencing Company of the Year Award for its excellence in product innovation as well as market execution that has accelerated the adoption of video conferencing

The Frost & Sullivan Award for Company of the Year is presented each year to the company that has demonstrated unparalleled excellence within its industry. The award is based on numerous factors, including the company’s business development, competitive strategy, customer satisfaction, and leadership within a particular Frost & Sullivan Industry Research Group (IRG).

The company’s customer service offerings and performance are expected to be of very high caliber and the company should have proven expertise in taking advantages of market changes by capturing and solidifying market presence, or through execution of innovative strategies within the existing competitive landscape.

“Showing strong operating fundamentals, TANDBERG continues to aggressively address new and emerging areas of opportunity in its core video communication business,” said Roopam Jain Principal Analyst at Frost & Sullivan.

“TANDBERG has seen impressive top line growth in recent years, reflecting its market leading innovation and strong sales execution.”

According to Frost & Sullivan, TANDBERG has further strengthened its position in the market by broadening its portfolio at both the high end and low end. TANDBERG’s high-end telepresence solution, Experia, provides a highly collaborative, in-person meeting experience that allows organizations to use their own networks and existing meeting rooms to create a telepresence experience. Movi provides a server-based PC-video application for enterprises that increases the accessibility and availability of video communications for PC users.

TANDBERG has also been proactive in green business initiatives by raising awareness for the advantages of using tools and technologies that promote productivity while reducing carbon emissions, traffic congestion and unnecessary business travel.

“Organizations are investing in innovative technologies, such as TANDBERG telepresence and high-definition videoconferencing, to enable natural communication. By providing an in-person meeting experience, TANDBERG solutions enhance collaboration and productivity,” said Fredrik Halvorsen, TANDBERG CEO.

"Together with our partners we have been able to expand the market and deliver a superior customer experience. We are honored that Frost & Sullivan has recognized our leadership in this exciting industry.”
