Epicor|CRS Announces Expanded International Capabilities and Support

Epicor|CRS, the Retail Solutions Division of Epicor Software Corporation has introduced new capabilities and expanded support to service its growing base of international customers that include the midmarket and Global 1000 companies.

CRS RetailStore, Epicor|CRS’s point-of-sale (POS) solution, now offers key capabilities to support the needs of retailers doing business internationally.

Additionally, Epicor expressed plans to expand its Bracknell, UK office, and also add a new professional services and support center in Malaysia to support the requirements of its growing list of international retail customers.

“Our customer base is expanding outside the US, and so must our products and services,” said Lynne Davidson, general manager for Epicor|CRS, referencing several new Epicor|CRS international customers such as Claire’s in the UK, and Wing Tai and Challenger Technologies Limited in Singapore.

“We will continue to expand in the global retail market by leveraging our international business savvy and global footprint, as well as our extensive retail experience. Continuing to support our customers’ business growth and expanding into emerging markets is important to us and is a focus now and in the future.”

To service its growing list of international retail customers, over the past year Epicor|CRS has engineered its POS product to support global market requirements. The latest version of RetailStore – RetailStore 3.1, released in Q3 2007 – supports French Canadian, Italian, French, and Spanish languages. RetailStore 3.1 handles capturing customer data for multiple country formats and supports multiple currency denominations and rounding. Additionally, the solution is compliant with the Unicode standard for engineering software that works across multiple regions, countries, languages, alphabets, and scripts. And in early 2008, RetailStore is slated to support Unicode for the Japanese and Chinese markets.

To further support its international retail customers, Epicor is continuing to grow and leverage its UK office located in Bracknell, as its implementation and support services hub. The company’s EMEA consulting team also grew considerably in 2007, opening additional offices in Slovakia, South Africa, Kenya and India, as well as an office in Egypt, operated jointly with consulting partner IDTA. As mentioned previously, the company plans to extend its Center of Excellence in Malaysia, which will provide implementation, training and help desk and support services, as well as maintenance, disaster recovery, and support for new store openings.

Additionally, and in yet another move to strengthen and enhance its retail presence outside of the US, Epicor announced last month that it has reached agreement on the terms of a recommended acquisition of UK-based NSB Retail Systems PLC, a global provider of software solutions and services for the specialty retail market. This acquisition, which is subject to NSB shareholder and regulatory approval, is expected to complete on or around February 8, 2008.
