ICON+ Improves Quality of Service with Datacraft’s Solution

Datacraft, the independent IT solutions and services company, has designed and implemented a performance management solution for Indonesian fibre optic-based network provider ICON+, in order to improve quality of service, streamline service analysis and reduce operating costs.

The USD1 million contract was completed in just four months and entailed the seamless integration of Performance Management systems from InfoVista with the existing fault management systems at ICON+.

ICON+ is a subsidiary of PT PLN (Persero), the biggest electricity company in Indonesia, and is responsible for commercializing spare capacity in the PLN Fiber Optic Network which extends for more than 4,000 km across Java and Bali.

"ICON+ is committed to deliver the highest quality of service to our clients. We selected Datacraft because of its extensive knowledge of networking and traffic management, as well as its strong record in providing consistent quality service and support," said Emil Soedharmo, Planning and Operation Director for ICON+.

At the core of the IP network, Datacraft deployed VistaFoundation, InfoVista’s technology platform and the VistaInsight suite of performance management solutions to measure service levels and assure optimal delivery of business-critical IT services.

On the other hand, Patrap Yakin, Country Manager for Datacraft Indonesia said that the new system acts as an early warning system with performance problem detection and troubleshooting capabilities by grouping data relating to a particular service, and giving the IT department dynamic access to the network performance information, thus enabling them to allocate technical support to the most important business priorities.

"There is no doubt that real time reporting and historical performance management data helps to increase quality of service to customers," Yakin added.
