Sun Microsystems Tuesday announced enhancements to the Sun Partner Advantage (SPA) Program's Partner Growth Fund (PGF) that will provide additional resources to stimulate growth for Sun's highly aligned partners in Asia Pacific (excluding China and India).
The new PGF will include a Demand Generation program, which will enable partners to reach out to new customers and drive volume business. A central, APAC-wide online tool has also been created to give partners a comprehensive program architecture to manage all transactions and approvals as well as resources available to them.
"Sun's business in Asia Pacific is the result of an aligned and strategic partner model. The investment in our partners has strongly contributed to Sun's growth and success in the marketplace," said Lionel Lim, president, Asia Pacific, Sun Microsystems.
“With the enhancements to the Partner Growth Fund, Sun will allocate approximately 70 percent of our investment in helping partners drive demand and boost volume growth, and around 30 percent in demonstration equipment.”
The PGF was introduced in 2007 to provide funding for demonstration equipment purchases and to empower Sun SPA Program partners to showcase the latest Sun technology and solutions to their customers.
The new Demand Generation program enables partners to create customized marketing programs and campaigns to further extend their market reach, acquire new customers across the region, and increase Sun's growth in the volume space with windows based servers.
“These component upgrades to the Partner Growth Fund give Sun channel partners a comprehensive means for resourcing and driving joint demand generation campaigns,” said Tan Kwang Meng, vice president, partner sales organization, Asia Pacific, Sun Microsystems.
“Sun's collaborative approach to working with our partners enabled us to make these enhancements based on their feedback. Sun believes that the expanded benefits provided in the Partner Growth Fund will aid our channel partners in their continued growth.” |
